A fair and honest won victory, over 13 architects(including over one,Living Design a First green foreclosure concrete box, no style building creator in Lake Worth)was won by Green Certified,architect REG's, Rick Gonzalez. ,bona fide archit.firm which re-created the 1916 West Palm Beach Court building succesfully ,and which now generates millions in revenue.They were awarded the job of our 1921 Casino's historic re-creation uniting our Community and reason for pride!!!!!!.
The Commission devised a system for bidding and agreed with the results,winner gets the project!
The new Commission members Varela and Maxwell who promised tax and Utility bills reduction immediately(did you see any?), if you voted for them,renaged on the false campaign promise, one of many, which fooled you!
Instead they do not want Lake Worth's succesful elegant 1921 Casino,a proven great revenue generator,uniting our legal Lake Worth Community with pride, to lower taxes,......to be created on our most valuable property our Palm Beach Island 20 acres land.It drew thousands of people.
Today's ugly concrete box a favorite of Golden,Varela,maxwell and other anti progress elements
want a flimsy, no style,a warehose loading dock type abortion, on our Palm Beach Island valuable Beach front.
This will assure another foreclosure,this time for Lake Worth, and bankruptcy.
Jo-Ann Golden ran for re-election with the promise of re-creation of our 1921 Casino to generate big revenue as in the past.
She even sent a card with our legal Community uniting 1921 casino image on the face, to fool us into believing her false intentions of its' re-creation!
During the bidding with 14 architects, process for our legal Community 1921 Casino recreation she and ignorant of architecture Maxwell, but familiar with Burger King style,
promoted the foreclosure concrete box on Lake Avenue architect, to force a flimsy roof with poles under it,foreclosure ready, to replace our 1921 legal Community Uniting,enriching Lake Worth 1921 Casino recreation!
They instead pushed their personal career politicians agenda:
curry favor with John Romano,Rodney Romano's brother who gave Lake Worth a record:the First Green Foreclosure non-descript unappealing,concrete box structure destroying the gracious architectural image of Lake Worth, which attracts people to our Town.
Commission Chair Varela, wants a gettho style concrete block structure,to secure foreclosure and probably ward off gang attacks as in Coop City, New York or other unsavory areas of our big Cities,as he has no idea how to bring safety to our City. Information about the gang violence in lake Worth is being suppressed!
Someone please tell him that our legal Community Uniting,elegant 1921 Casino is situated Palm Beach Island Ocean and ICW front land, not in a gettho!
Get the heads of the last three out of:
All the world must be a gettho,promote poverty by property devaluation,(no City property sales but give aways to those who did not work for it) frame of mind!!!!!

These three with fellow obstructionist,devious City Manager Stanton, with devious,obstructionist tactics, are subverting the simple honest Contract of REG to force their personal agenda,a cheap none descript, foreclosure ready concrete box on our billion dollar Palm Beach Island Beach!

Dee, It is up to the Commission. Three of them played politics with Golden saying that "history did not do it for her." So there you go--a mindset of three looking at "green" as an excuse because we know that REG will incorporate green features. These elected officials knew what they are doing. It was sickening that day and it is the same now. This Commission is no better than any we have ever had...they do not listen to the people. It is all politics at its worst. REG was awarded the contract but somehow, Living Designs has wormed its way into the deal.
